Ten Movies You Should Be Excited For In 2025 (Movies)

Tis the season for optimism but w e are sort of nearing a tipping point. The war rages on between the cinema and streamers with no true end in scope. Yet in a time where many have chanted to survive till 2025 we are finally here and my normally pessimistic self can’t help but feel excited for what is to come. From Cruise to Marvel here are the 10 movies you should be excited for. 10: 28 Years Later  A sequel not quite 28 years in the making presents a stacked cast with Aaron Taylor-Johnson to name one. Not to mention the new and innovative way of filming could change the game of how movies look from here on out.  9: F1 Brad Pitt, an old movie star, pairs up with the director of Top Gun Maverick for a high speed racing movie in the world of one earth's fastest growing sports. Hell. Freaking. Yeah.  8: Micheal  Music bio picks may feel the same each time yet we keep on going and they keep getting awards buzz. Expect no...

Russ Resurrected (Sports)

About three years ago Russell Wilson was an unquestionable hall of fame player or at least just had to sustain a gradual decline into his twilight to get to the hallowed hall. Then things got sticky in Seattle and Russ once the toast of the town found himself steering his way to Denver. At first the voices were quiet, some Russ is a weird guy accusations and such but nothing extreme. Then things imploded in Denver and all the sudden it seemed to be time for everyone to get their lick in in on Russ. Prior teammates, current teammates, and the media all lined up to pour some more dirt on the career of the once MVP candidate Russell Wilson. When the team benched Russ, cut him, and payed him a ton of money to basically fuck off it was hard not to think the Russ of old was essentially dead along with his career. Russ semi-quietly found himself in Pittsburgh this last offseason. Him and youngster Justin Fields formed a qb room that could only be descri...

Post-Week 8 NFL Top Ten (Sports)

The NFL season is nearing its midpoint and with this comes talk shows freaking out about Quarterbacks, overreacting articles telling you a team is dead and overall just general bad vibes about most teams future. This ranking is more of the same but hopefully presents a more calm voice for what could be one of the most odd and unpredictable NFL seasons in recent memory. Eagles  The birds just keep finding ways to win and keep adding more and more quality players. Chiefs  This is Patrick Mahomes we are talking about, it's gonna be okay. Just listen to 1989 Chiefs fans until the playoffs then you can worry. Dolphins  Positionless football, maybe this might work? Jalen Ramsey coming back could be huge. Jaguars Trevor Lawrence just needs to protect the ball because the defense is getting too many turnovers to not capitalize. Seahawks  Leonard Williams' addition makes this team a legit contender if their offensive line can get healthy. Ravens  So t...

Top 5 Quarterbacks in the 2024 NFL Daft, plus Best and Worst Fits! (Sports)

In a year dominated by the Quarterback conversation, well at least more than usual. Here are my definitive pre-draft rankings which are bound to be wrong in some ways because as much as we would all like to say we are experts, picking QB's is a crap shoot. Caleb Williams   Williams is a baller who is often faulted by “football people” for his painted nails and emotions after games. This is just plain stupid, for anyone that watched him play on one leg against Utah knows the guys got grit and more importantly he is a baller. Best fit: Chicago Bears  Worst fit: New York Giants  Drake Maye I am not fully sure what happened but this seems like a classic story. We fall in love with a prospect but somehow over the course of time when no actual football is being played pick a player apart. Don’t overthink it, Maye is my favorite quarterback in this draft. He is big, durable, and has this subtle quiet confidence to him and I do think it matters that he stayed at North Car...

NBA Conference FinalsTop 10 Players (Sports)

The list of the 10 best players in the final four teams left in the 2024 NBA Playoffs. This is not a ranking of who has had the best career or who has the brightest future, it is the best 10 players right now.  Luka Doncic      When Luka isn’t yelling at the refs he is one of the most pure offensive basketball players in the game today, maybe of all time. At his best he can carry the Mavs to the finals and win the dang thing.  Jayson Tatum       Taum is not only an elite level scorer but plays defense and crashes the boards. For some reason he is penalized for consistently making playoff runs and being on the best teams. Just a reminder he is only 26 years old still.  Anthony Edwards       Yes, he may be the up and coming face of the league because of his personality but his defense and midrange shot are special. Even better, not only does he welcome the moment but he attacks the moment.  Ky...

The Start of What Hopes to be a Beautiful Sounding Game Winning Friendship (Quad Culture Staff)

Howdy, it’s odd to introduce something that has been on my Brain for over a year but nonetheless today that is what I hope to do. Quad Culture is a dream and me and my writers can’t wait for you to see it become a reality. However I’ll leave the emotionally complex stuff to the talented staff I am actively assembling as you read. I’ll keep it short and sweet. If you love sports this is the place for you. If you love movies this is the place for you. If you love tv this is the place for you. If you love music this is the place for you. If for some awkward and outlandishly odd reason none of those things are for you I’d still love it if you gave us a read. I mean why not you are already here. I above all encourage engaging with the content debate with the content but be respectful as that’s the way we can all enjoy it. Excited for you to be a part of this little dream of mine and hope you stick around and bring some friends or enemies with you to the party. Happy readi...

The Lost Raider Way (Sports)

Whether it’s Vegas, Oakland, or Los Angeles the name Raiders use to represent something real. Something tangible. It’s been almost a quarter century since the Raiders last were in the big game. The AFC Championship prior to that Super Bowl whooping at the hands of former Raider Jon Gruden is the last time the Raiders won a playoff game.  There is a generation of fans that only know mediocrity at best when it comes to the Raiders. A generation of fans who only know the revolving door of coaches and quarterbacks. A long fall from grace for one of the NFL’s most important franchises.  If you're not up on your NFL history here's a crash course. In the early days of the Super Bowl era NFL the league was popping but it needed a villain and who better than the team with the pirate on its helmet that wore silver and black. The Raiders of those days followed one rule, “cheating is encouraged” this for many Raiders of the day meant literal che...

NFL 2024 Post-Midseason, 4 Contenders and 4 Pretenders (Sports)

The NFL season has passed its midway point and you know what that means we are past the hopefully faze the real phonies are out aka the jets and the contender field has gotten smaller. While the world wonders who might be Super Bowl bound it feels like it might still be up in the air. Yet still there are a few fakes and some sneaky contenders out there. So let’s jump into 4 contenders and 4 pretenders.  Contender #1 Chiefs       As much as I want the Chiefs to lose, they just keep winning. From a young age I was taught to be the champ until proven otherwise. So I’ll follow my teachings on this one. Pretender #1 Commanders       I don’t mean to be a downer but rookie QBs, even great ones, don't typically make it all that far in the playoffs. For the first time in a longtime the future is bright in Washington I just don’t think this year screams Super Bowl for the nation’s capital...

Forgotten: Chuck Noll (Sports)

In 2014, Chuck Noll was mentioned in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. It was the year of his death with the issue coming out as a beautiful homage to the late coach. Or, to be more precise, it would have been a beautiful homage if his name hadn’t been spelled wrong. How was it possible that someone who built a legacy and transformed Pittsburgh's athletic identity could become overlooked almost immediately? Forgotten by the wider public, perhaps his work didn’t stand the test of time when flashier football coaches with larger personalities came onto the football scene. He wasn’t one for flashiness, wasn’t even one for high fiving his players on the sidelines of a game when they made a good play. Chuck Noll, however, led the Steelers to win Super Bowl IX, X, XIII, and XIV. He won four championships in just six years and made complete legends out of his players.   Fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers had watched Chuck Noll lead them to victor...
