          It’s been over 10 years since the last episode of Friday Night Lights aired. It’s funny now to think that the show has bounced from streaming service to streaming service, still remaining in some vague sense of popularity. One of the unquestionable strengths of the show that follows high school football coach Eric Taylor is that despite his name often running first in the credits he is seemingly not the main character. In fact the coach like all great coaches acts as more of a catalyst for those around him to shine. In this sense there are many great characters and with them many great actors that entered the show however no story is more interesting than that of Tim Riggins, played by Taylor Kitsch.           The NFL season is here, today! So it’s time for my ranking. This is a ranking of each teams projected starting quarterback combining two factors. One being their performance leading up to this season in their respective career but most importantly the other being how well I think they are going to play going into the 2024-2025 season. 32. Daniel Jones  This is less of a statement on Jones and more on the team and organization around him. 31. Jacoby Brisset  A solid backup option that’s just holding time for Drake Maye and the rest of the young core. 30. Bo Nix  Maybe he is the next Drew Brees or maybe we should just let him be Bo Nix, a rookie coached by Sean Payton. 29.          Tim Burton is a bit eccentric, well maybe very eccentric but that is what makes him so endearing. Whether it’s Beetlejuice or his iteration of Batman in 1989 it seems that the award winning director prides himself and his films on being well, distinguishable. Burton has had his fair share of successes and flops. When it comes to the flops however they are often one sided in the sense that if the critics don’t like it usually the audience does and vice versa however if neither like it you can count on his devoted group of fans to find the silver lining. This is what makes his 2001 remake of Planet of the Apes rather disappointing, aside from an interesting twist Burton’s rendition to put it kindly falls flat on its face and seemed to not land with any audience. Burton's career has not really been the same since so what comes next in Burton’s filmography after this misstep is potentially his most underrated and odd film of all.     ...

For as long as I could remember, the adults in my life had always referred to me as an old soul. I was fond of the title, leaned into it even. To further claim my title of old soul, I avoided modern culture: books, movies, but especially music. Maybe by admitting this I’m predating myself and going against the pride I take in being an old soul but here goes: I had no idea who Bob Dylan was until I heard about him in my favorite movie mere years ago. Both the artist and Time Out of Mind , his smashing comeback album, were unfamiliar to me until they provided a large bit of source material for Dan Fogelman’s film Life Itself . Upon listening to his album, I realized the literary and musical goldmine that was Time Out of Mind .
